Tea in the name of Fairtrade

The Fairtrade tea party group

Tuesday saw one of the main events of the Fairtrade fortnight – the Fairtrade Tea Party. Many students turned up to show their support towards Fairtrade and purchased the homemade cupcakes, cakes, biscuits, chocolates and tea that students and staff had made. The event ran like a 1920’s café with tables set out and jazz music playing in the background.

Well done to these students in particular; Molly Smith, Sophie Gornall, Max Cussons, Proma Rajbongshi, Zakera Khatun, Sophie Waite, Zahraa Khameery, Ethan Zhang (photographer) and Jess Hanson, who all helped to make the event a huge success.

Miss Case, who runs the Fairtrade group at college, would like to say a big thank you to the cakes and supplies donated by staff and the very hardworking students.

Best of all £101.43 was raised, an achievement that we should definitely be proud of!
