On Friday, Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. The storm was considered a class 5 storm, the biggest storm you can get. A Typhoon or Hurricane gets it power from the sea, as soon as it hits land it starts to die, a Typhoon (Hurricane) is made when a collection of thunder clouds build up and start sucking the moisture from the sea. But the Typhoon needs warm water to keep going, which is why we don’t get Hurricane’s. The problem with this storm was that it reached it’s most powerful as hit one of the Philippines many isolated islands causing colossal damage.  Many people have lost their lives.
